Getting Back to Me
July 22, 2026
I have a bad habit of scrolling on my phone and playing games that take up way too much of my time. I have a problem with escapism.
Since deleting those apps recently, I've given myself little goals here and there to get me back to myself. One of them is reading...well, listening to audiobooks.
I have an ever growing TBR list that keeps me in a constant state of procrastination. So instead of wasting my time saving videos of "Five books that will change your life." and "Here are my top choices for [genre] books!" from other people, I'm taking the plunge and chipping away at my list to finish a book.
Starting with All the Sinners Bleed by S.A. Cosby.
I've seen tons of recommendations online for this book.
It's also available on the Hoopla app. Please support your local library.
My first impression of this book was that it was a mystery/thriller. I LOVE mystery thrillers.
The second one was that it was written by a black author with themes including race, and religion in the south. I like authors who are influenced to write about real issues.
I'm not sure what year it's set in, but from what I know before beginning the book is that the first black sheriff in his small, southern town is investigating a murder case.
The audiobook is 13 hours and 42 minutes long. I'll make it easy on myself, and give myself one week. That's less than two hours a day. Simple.
